PTSA President’s Message
Welcome to Calle Mayor Middle School!

I look forward to working with you and your children this year through the PTSA. We have some wonderful enrichment programs and activities planned for the students this year. Amongst those activities is our ongoing Adventures in Art program which brings five new art projects to each student this year. All of our programs are 100% PTSA funded and staffed by parent volunteers.

The PTSA also provides the resources to keep all of the students safe and the school campus beautiful. We check and maintain the Emergency Preparedness supplies for the school, as well as host a Calle Campus Clean Up Day twice a year. Safety Education is provided through various programs, including Red Ribbon, Blue Ribbon and Fire Prevention Weeks.

Communication is an important goal of the PTSA. The eYapper is a weekly publication that is sent electronically via email, providing important information about events and programs at the school, as well as a calendar, listing upcoming activities. We encourage everyone to go to our website
(http://www.CallePTSA.org) and sign up for the online service as a way to help conserve paper and save our environment if you are not already receiving it.. In our further efforts to conserve paper, we will also provide the Quarterly Newsletter – The Bulldog Barker—which will be sent electronically and you are welcome to print a copy for your child.

How can we provide all these programs and services? We do it through the various fundraising programs during the school year. Our two major fundraisers are the Direct Donation fundraiser in the fall and the Bulldog Run in the spring. In addition, we sell Calle Logo clothing and items to promote school spirit. You are also encouraged to register with eScrip and Ralphs so that our PTSA will receive money every time you shop. They need to be renewed annually.

We encourage all of our parents to get involved in PTSA in some way. Your child will appreciate having you involved in their lives, not only at home but at school as well. They grow up so fast, so don’t miss a moment of their precious lives.
